QUEERLESS?!
A fearless space for queer voices, courage, and community.
QUEERLESS?! is a new empowerment initiative by THE_SPACE dedicated to queer people who challenge boundaries, demand visibility, and show courage in places where being seen, heard, or simply being yourself cannot be taken for granted.
Through art, film, conversation, and community, QUEERLESS?! creates a space to celebrate queer voices—and the people who stand up for them.
For its first edition, THE_SPACE presents artist, filmmaker, and activist Popo Fan.
Originally from China and based in Berlin for the past nine years, Fan’s interdisciplinary practice spans film, performance, installation, and visual art, exploring queer narratives, identity, and visibility.
Beyond his artistic practice, Fan has actively challenged the censorship of queer voices. After his documentary *Mama Rainbow* was removed from Chinese streaming platforms, he took the censorship authority to court—and won. His fight became an important act of resistance for queer visibility and freedom of expression in China.
You can find his story onWelt.Macht.China.
The evening features a selection of Popo Fan’s short films alongside artworks and installations throughout THE_SPACE, followed by a conversation with the artist and moderator Júnia Matsuura.
